Masafune Usami is a well-built young man, lithe and strong, wily and cunning. Unlike others of his village, he does not have a fair complexion, the reason being that he is often sent out of the nation to carry out missions. As a result, he does not look like his fellow brethren due to his tan-color skin.
Always seen with a snarky smirk on his face, Usami is rarely taken lightly. Upon first meeting him, one may feel immediately distrustful of the flatterer. Usually garbed in the drab dark colors of his jonin uniform, he does not seem to stand out very much from the others. The main difference between he and the rest of the ANBU is that his mask does not take on the face of an animal - but rather - a no-face mask.

Somewhat of a controlling ambitious young man, Usami pushes for his ideals constantly. Known for being coy and devious, it is very easy to despise the snarky young man. He constantly tries to find weaknesses and flaws in other characters. His reason for doing so?
To simply be on top of things, is all.
Because he is an ANBU black-op, lying and probing for information is like second nature to him. He is fairly skilled at the trade and without even knowing it, can spin out a false tale in under a minute. Rarely will he confess what is truly on his mind, because Usami believes that true strength comes from metis, quickness of mind, 99.99% of the time.
Always one to take things over the top, Usami has the tendency to pit brute strength against a power of equal poportions. He always tries to find an easy way out of a sticky situation and will not hesitate on turning on his allies if he senses that they will no longer be useful to him. Overall, he uses flattery and insight in order to achieve his goals.

» By controlling the wind, Usami is able to distort sounds and to create them as well. The technique is used primarily to disguise one's voice or to sound a low-pitched, almost invisible whistle to alert animal familiars of his alliance.
» The one flaw is that animal familiars of another nations may be able to hear the sound as well. As a result, the technique is used only to signal for back-up or to give off a warning to intruders.

» Expelled in a way similar to Katon Goukakyuu no Jutsu [Grand Fireball Technique], it is composed of a large number of bubbles, compacted into a tight and dense stream used to cover the ground in order to limit the opponent's movements. While used typically as a defensive jutsu, when aimed correctly, it can be used to deflect a certain number of other attacks as well as make for a quick escape, carried out, according to Usami, by "shooting these bubbles into your eyes just to make them scream."

» The jutsu allows the user to create duplicates of him or herself out of water. It is able to carry out orders that the original is loath to do him or herself but cannot travel far from the original vessel. When injured enough, the clones will cease to be nothing more than just water.

» Although this is typically a C-Rank Jutsu, Usami has trained using this ninjutsu for quite some time now; as a result, he has honed it. Usami spits out a stream of water and can control it by manipulating his chakra. He usually tries to gain as much height and distance as he can in order to successsfully lock-on to a target.

» Usami carries out a large number of hand-signs in order to use this dangerous jutsu. With his skill-level, he is able to use this jutsu in a place with limited water, however, doing so requires more chakra. As a result, Usami uses this technique when near a large body of water because with it, he is able to call upon a water dragon to seek out his opponents.

» Usami is able to manipulate the wind around him into a sharp almost blade-like arc. He can control it with a sweep of his hand and, if putting in enough chakra, can use it in rapid succession. It is able to cut down even the hardiest of opponents.

» As if like a geisha, a japanese entertaintress, he weaves an "dress of wind" around him that, for a short while, can deflect oncoming projectiles.
» When used in close-range combat, the difficulty of maintaining the barrier increases and more loop-holes in the armor can easily be found through luck or careful scutiny.

» Usami uses his chakra to pack the air within a certain distance from him into a tight and dense sphere. Usually used to weigh opponents down, the technique restricts the opponent by increasing the air pressure around them. His opponents are said to feel sluggish and as if weighed down by iron soles.
» Although a devasting technique and a jutsu he developed himself, the weakness in it is that Usami has to keep his arms locked in the air in order to keep the jutsu valid.

» Like Hômatsu Rappa [Violent Bubble Wave] and Mizurappa [Water Trumpet], Usami expells a strong gust of wind able to knock back enemies. Regardless of how strong or heavy you think you are, it would be best to get out of the way. The wind, when exposed to it for too long, can cut through skin as easily as knife through butter. As ane of Usami's trump-cards, the technique is not to be taken lightly.
» The fault with this technique lies in the amount of chakra it consumes and the fact that it takes a while for him to gather the air needed to fuel the techinque. Although it could be a powerful offensive move, Usami uses it as a last resort. After using this technique, Usami will most likely be far too drained to make a very far escape.
