Hyuuga Location: Konohagakure Status: Noble Clan
With their signature white eyes, Hyuuga clan members are easy to recognize. They have use of the Byakugan, a doujutsu that gives the user the ability to see the chakra paths of anyone they look at with it, see nearly 360 degrees around themselves, and look through objects to see things at long distances. Using this, they have developed a signature style of taijutsu that closes off their opponents' chakra points, making them unable to use ninjutsu or genjutsu of any kind. The clan is split in two, with the branch family lower in status than the main family. Branch family members all bear a tattoo on their forehead, and should they betray their clan or die in battle, it will be activated, killing the clan member and destroying their eyes to prevent them from being put into use by enemies.

Inuzuka Location: Konohagakure
The Inuzuka clan have a connection with canines, and most, if not all, of their members have dogs that they live and train with. More than pets, these dogs can communicate with and work with their partners in jutsu exclusive to their clan. The clan members themselves have especially heightened senses, to the point that some of them can outperform nin-dogs in tasks such as detecting things by scent. Their appearance, too, tends to mimic dogs, with their teeth looking fang-like, and even their names deriving from parts of animals.

Nara Location: Konohagakure
With the ability to control shadows and, through them, their opponents, the Nara clan's unique abilities can simultaneously surprise and capture an unwary enemy. Capable of controlling their own shadow, combining it with others, and extending it to an enemy's, they can halt the movement of anyone whose shadow theirs touches, or make them move with them. While their enemies are immobile, they can easily use a secondary shadow to grab their necks and strangle them.

Uchiha Location: Konohagakure Status: Noble Clan (Defunct) The only clan able to use the Sharingan doujutsu. With it, they can read an opponent's movements no matter the speed, and as a result, copy their jutsu by memorizing the hand seals used in it. The Sharingan has varying levels of ability, categorized by how many "commas" are visible in the eye. Even on one person, the strength of each Sharingan may vary, with one eye having more "commas" visible than the other. Once an eye forms the maximum of them, three, it can, in some individuals, advance to the Mangekyou Sharingan. The Mangekyou Sharingan's appearance and abilities differ greatly from individual to individual.
With the exception of very few, the entire Uchiha clan was killed by Uchiha Itachi on orders from elders in Konohagakure for planning a rebellion against the village. The truth of this incident, however, was covered up, and is known to only a handful of people.

Oketsu Location: Konohagakure Creator: Hiko
The Oketsu clan consists primarily of women, though the occasional male will be born into the clan. This clan was formed after females in the Naosuku clan began forming abilities now known today as the kekkai genkai "Furuchi". These girls were cast out from Naosuku and made to thrive on their own. Because of this, the Oketsu clan has formed a set of defacto laws: - An Oketsu woman may marry, but should the husband pass on, both the woman and whatever children she bore during the marriage will return to the Oketsu clan. - If a Oketsu woman bears a daughter who has unlocked the kekkai genkai, the daughter is acknowledged as a Oketsu. The girl will be taken in by the clan and trained in the poison arts. Contact with the parent is at the daughter's discretion. - An Oketsu's loyalty lies first to her clan, second to her Hokage and village, and finally third to her team and additional family.
Bloodline Trait: Furuchi. Only the females in the Oketsu line may carry this kekkai genkai. Furuchi allows for the user's bodily fluids (spit, blood, etc.) to act as various poisons. Every Furuchi user is able to create a lethal dose of poison from their blood, though most refine their gifts and learn how to create other poisons as well. Much like snakes, those with this kekkai genkai are not immune to the poisons from other Oketsu. All Oketsu women are characterized by their eye colour, a deep brown-red. Drawback to Furuchi: Depending on the poison used, the user's immune system will deteriorate for a period of time before building back up to its original resilience. Side effects of the poisons vary for each user. The after-effects of using Shiketsu for the first time have been known to kill the kekkai genkai user, as the body is not ready for such a complete breakdown of the immune system.

Naosuku Location: Konohagakure Creator: Hiko
The Naosuku clan was formed after members of the Noiru clan broke away and began focusing their training on medical ninjutsu. Many from Naosuku became some of the first official medic-nin. This clan holds a set of agreed upon practices: - A Naosuku must give aid to the injured no matter the cost to the clan member. - Every Naosuku child will be brought up in some sort of medical education, regardless of whether or not the child decides to become a medical-nin in their adult life. -A Naosuku will not provoke fights, engage in unnecessary combat, or kill the unarmed or unaware.
The Naosuku are also known for a specific healing jutsu: Kenkou Hikari no Jutsu (Healing Light Technique) - The user sends strands of their own chakra into the wounds and/or lifestream of the target. The chakra strands pick up on the healthy system of the user and repair the wounded accordingly, healing even the most drastic of wounds. It cannot revive the departed. This technique drains the user almost completely of chakra.

Noiru Location: Konohagakure Creator: Hiko
The Noiru clan was formed from ninja in Konoha who were adept at the silent kill. The founding members came from different backgrounds and clans, and traded skills and tactics. The catalyst for these members to break away from their original clans and families was the marriage of two of the founders' only children. Legend has it that the newlywed daughter had the first signs of Furuchi, while her husband had adept abilities as a medical practitioner--though such tales are thought to be heresy. During the second Hokage's time, members in Noiru began to break off from the idea of assassination, wishing to focus on the healing arts. There was no argument over this; those in Noiru simply didn't care. As of today, the two clans stand on equal, though opposite ground. Noiru, adept at killing; and Naosuku, adept at healing.
The Noiru have a jutsu used frequently amongst their clan: Shinikaketeiru Ban no Jutsu (Dying Night Technique) - This technique allows the user to slip into the shadows and become one with the darkness. One can move within the darkness, as well as attack from it (offensive weapons only). It ends when the user either chooses to leave, or light falls upon the area.
