NAME: Hyuuga Kouji 日向鋼慈
AGE: 13
GENDER: Male
RANK: Genin, assigned to Chidoku Akemi's Team Six with Chidoku Ayana and Inuzuka Shirio
VILLAGE: Konohagakure
APPEARANCE: A boy of average height for his age and the slight build of youth, Kouji looks more the Hyuuga than the Uchiha, with black hair landing just below his shoulders and the pure white eyes, absent of pupils, of the clan. He wears a black mesh tank top covered by a brown, V-necked sleeveless shirt, and finally by a short-sleeved, open beige jacket with black stripes at the ends of the sleeves. Simple black pants cover his legs, as well as the standard shuriken pouch, wrapped over the right thigh. Black sandals and fingerless mesh gloves complete his attire.
PERSONALITY: Despite his youth, Kouji is a cold, callous, cynical boy, absolutely disinterested in relationships of any kind. A talented shinobi for his age, he is a bit arrogant, leading to a tendency, at times, to disregard orders in favor of his own strategies. This is in part because he prefers working alone to working with others, partially due to his adamant, if unconscious, refusal to trust anyone but himself. Impatient with failure of any kind, in himself and in others, he can be extremely condescending, with no regard for the effect his blunt opinions may have. Kouji's respect is hard-won, given to very few, and subject to being lost at the slightest perception of flaws.
WEAPONS: Shuriken and kunai. Currently not well trained in other forms of weaponry.
CHAKRA ELEMENT: Fire
JUTSU:
BLOODLINE:
HISTORY: Born to a union between Hyuuga and Uchiha, Kouji nonetheless spent his early childhood far from both clans - neither was willing to let an outsider into their compound, from the same village or not. His parents thus led a modest life on their own, isolated from their families, but happy enough, content with the company of each other and their young son. Their separation saved his mother from Itachi's massacre of her clan, and while understandably shaken, Kumi recovered as best as could be expected. Too young to understand what had happened himself, the boy was spared one trauma - but more followed soon after, much closer to home.
Both of his parents were jounin, highly valued by the village for their bloodline abilities. They worked together often, Kumi's sharingan providing a deadly offense when coupled with Yuu's byakugan. Their missions were often highly secretive and extremely dangerous, and eventually, one proved too much even for them.
At seven years old, Kouji lost the only family he'd ever known, all in one moment.
With no other option, he was sent to some relations of his father's, a few proud Hyuuga with no real interest in a half-blood child. In his academy classes, he began pushing the other students away, not knowing how to deal with the sharp, unfamiliar edge of loss. They were only children, too young themselves to understand the reasons for his behavior, knowing only that he was suddenly cold and distant and unpleasant. Among his classmates, his self-imposed seclusion was returned; at home he was unwanted, inadequate, and largely ignored by the new family that didn't know what to do with him.
Kouji received the branch family's seal almost immediately upon his arrival at the clan's compound. In his classes, he excelled academically, but the disinterest he received from his relatives was taking its toll, rapidly deepening the embitterment that had come over him following his parents' deaths. The young boy was growing colder, the distance that had first been out of grief turning quickly to disdain. Looking at his clan, he saw none of the nobility they so prided themselves on - only arrogance and hypocrisy. The branch family was inferior by blood alone, yet they looked on him and saw even less. He wasn't Hyuuga enough to receive the training to properly use his byakugan eyes, but he was enough to become their branded tool.
He grew to hate them.
By the time he graduated the academy, Kouji was bitter and cynical far beyond what a boy of his age should have been capable of feeling, caught in a cycle that constantly deepened those feelings. He had no use for relationships of any kind, he pushed away everyone who came near, and, with the confidence in his own abilities he'd found on his own in defiance of the lack of praise he received, he had no patience for anyone he considered below his own skill. Working on a team was something he hated the concept of, but entering into the ranks of Konoha's shinobi required it. He was placed on Team Six, under the leadership of Chidoku Akemi, and from the moment he met his teammates, he clashed with them.
Fortunately, his jounin sensei has no patience for his standoffishness, and his distaste for his teammates isn't entirely mutual. Perhaps there's even some small chance he'll become a respectable shinobi - eventually.

WEAPONS: Shuriken and kunai. Currently not well trained in other forms of weaponry.
CHAKRA ELEMENT: Fire
JUTSU:
Endan (fireball):
C rank, ninjutsu
This jutsu allows Kouji to emit a large jet of fire from his mouth, which condenses to form a fireball. Good for both offense and cover.
BLOODLINE:
Hyuuga: Visually, this bloodline lends itself to his white eyes, and more significantly, to his ability to use byakugan. Though he hasn't been trained in the clan's taijutsu arts, being of the branch family, he is skilled in the doujutsu's use, his observant, perceptive nature serving well with the range of vision it allows him.
Uchiha: This bloodline has yet to manifest itself in Kouji. Presumably, he has the capability for the use of sharingan, though its effects when paired with his byakugan are as yet unknown.
